Bloom’s Social Action and Missions Ministry encourages and empowers us to be active agents of change in our community when needs arise and to be vocal advocates for social justice when voices need to be heard.
Hot Lunch Service: alleviating hunger in our community by suppling volunteers to help Well in the Desert serve hot lunches twice a week and collecting weekly food donations for the FIND food bank.
Buddy and Lucy Bags: helping our homeless neighbors feed their pet companions, an often-overlooked hardship of homelessness.
Backpack and School Supplies Drive: buying backpacks and supplies to help area children be better prepared for their school year.
Holiday Gift Card: coordinating with area school principals to supply shopping gift cards for needy Valley families during the holiday.
Asylum Seeker Support: providing clothing and needed supplies for young men seeking asylum as they navigate through the immigration process. This Ministry supports the ongoing efforts of Our Lady of Soledad in Coachella, CA. It is part of the church’s 2019 focus on the Social Justice issues of Immigration.

May Peace Prevail on Earth
Joining more than 200,000 locations around the world, this Palm Springs Peace Pole brings the international initiative to this international city.Founded in 1955, the global Peace Pole Project seeks “to uplift humankind toward harmony rather than conflict.”
This “planting” is made possible by the support of local interfaith church,
synagogue, business and veteran groups and individuals. It is a gift to all who live here and passers by.
It reminds us to hold dear those who are harmed by conflict; including Barbara Keating, a Palm Springs community member who was a passenger on board American Airlines Flight 11 when it was flown into the WorldTradeCenter on September 11, 2001.
The languages displayed are: Arabic, Cahuilla, Chinese, English, Farsi, French, Hebrew, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Tagalog and Braille. This Peace Pole is the first to display this Cahuilla phrase.

"‘You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled under foot. You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father (Parent) in heaven." --Matthew 5:13-16
