MINISTRY DESCRIPTIONS: All ministries are led by Ministry Coordinators who encourage particpation, identify needs and assests, and guide everyone who would like to particpate in the work of these ministries.

WELCOME

Organizes and enhances the church’s extravagant welcome, creating an inviting and nurturing experience of coming to worship for newcomers and members alike.

WORSHIP

Coordinates the elements of our progressive, Christian service: readings, music, decor, and special services.

NURTURE and COMMUNITY LIFE

Provides social activities and events for the fun and edification of the congregation.  This Ministry also oversees the loving outreach Ministry of nurture and care for members of and visitors to the church.

SOCIAL ACTION and MISSIONS

Promotes and encourages members to be involved with and active in the concerns of our community; local, national and international.  They remain alert to needs in our community and bring to the congregation concerns of peace and justice as they arise.  This Ministry is encouraged to be engaged with our neighbors in need and stand strong on peace and justice matters.

EDUCATION

This Ministry offers adult education programs that engage and enlighten the members of Bloom and the broader community.

CHURCH GROWTH

Makes the church visible and known to the community through publicity and an extravagant welcome.  It seeks to be creative while challenging the whole church to work together. This Ministry also follows up with newcomers, nurturing them into membership.

FUND DEVELOPMENT

Nurtures and develops revenue for the church.  They will oversee giving campaigns among the members as well as seeking funds from other sources.  This Ministry is charged with the duty of inspiring and guiding the church to generous giving through stewardship education that presumes blessing and abundance.

PASTOR PARISH

Works with the minister, and other staff, to ensure that communication between staff and the congregation is and remains clear and filled with trust.

PERMANENCE/FACILITIES

Maintains and improves the existing environments of the Demuth Center and the church’s office space, with an eye toward creating and identifying physical permanence for the church.
